If several years from now San Antonio is known as much for its technology ecosystem and entrepreneurship as it is for the Alamo and the River Walk, it may have ride sharing — or the lack of it — to thank.
The departure of ride-sharing providers Uber and Lyft, following a city ordinance that those companies deemed onerous, has drawn ire from San Antonio’s tech community. And in recent weeks that ire has manifested as a new advocacy group called Tech Bloc, which made a big and splashy debut with a rousing event May 19 at Southerleigh Fine Food and Brewery at Pearl.
